10 Best Mark and Lexie Scenes

After hearing news that both Dr Sloane and Dr Lexie Grey are now together in the after life I thought we could look at their 10 best scenes from their time together on the show. This was extremely difficult to do as they have shared some great scenes together but I will try to include some of their funnier scenes as well as their sadder scenes.

 10- Season 8 Episode 07
This isn't so much a scene the two shared together but I wanted to include it as I thought it was really funny when I saw it. Basically the scene is Lexie smashing Sloane's new girlfriend Julia by throwing a baseball into her. As well as this is the aftermath of Lexie looking on at Sloane.

 9- Season 7 Episode 13
This is a sad scene to watch of the two together but I thought that the reaction and change of Lexie's thoughts and emotions throughout was enough to put it in the top ten. The scene the beginning of a really annoying storyline but I think the heartbreak of Lexie is worth a watch to see how much she wanted to be with Mark.

8- Season 5 Episode 10
This is the beginning of their relationship and has Lexie coming up to Sloane's apartment to do so. This is interesting as Lexie has been so reluctant and trying to get George's attention that it is very different for her to outright come and initiate things with Sloane.

7- Season 6 Episode 11
This is another sad scene for the two being that this is their other break up scene. Even though it is a break up it is still clear that the two love each other and that is indicated with the words they use in their conversation.

6-  Season 5 Episode 21
This whole episode has the two sharing meaningful conversations and interactions. Lexie wants Mark to meet her father so much and even though he is reluctant to due to the age gap he is still able to do this for Lexie. Seeing the two together at the end of the episode shows how in love Lexie really is with Mark and how happy he has made her.

5-  Season 5 Episode 15
This scene shows the lighter flirty side of Mark and Lexie and is just a cute scene that they share. It also shows that even when Lexie is trying to be mad at Mark she is still able to have a some what playful side with him.

4- Season 8 Episode 24
This was one of the saddest scenes of the show and I was reluctant to include it but this scene shows Lexie's last moments that she shares with Mark. Mark is able to tell her that she was always the one he imagined his life with and is able to help Lexie go peacefully.
3- Season 7 Episode 10
This is a really good reunion scene that the two share and was something that had been building up for 1 and a half seasons. I also really like how Lexie comes in saying one thing and has Jackson coming to help her leave but totally disregards him when he comes as she is now very distracted.

2- Season 6 Episode 22
This is the moment after half a season that Mark finally comes back to declare his love to Lexie. The scene came as a bit of a shock as Lexie was with Alex at the time but despite this the words that Mark uses and Lexie's reaction show the bond these two still share.
1- Season 8 Episode 22
Finally in the number one spot is Lexie's own declaration of love to Mark. Again the speech that is given shows the deep feelings of these two and takes Mark completely by surprise but deeply affects him. The way that Lexie delivers the speech is also so full of nervousness and emotion and shows how much she needs Mark.

Top ten Disney princesses

While there are only really 10 official Disney princesses this list will include each in order counting down to who I think is the best princess.

10- Tiana
Princess Tiana rounds out the bottom of the list as I really don't find her to be that memorable compared to the other princesses. All I can really associate her with is that she was turned into a frog and saddled with the prince as a frog. While this is no real fault of the character, I just feel like she wasn't able to explore much about the character that would have made Tiana much more likable since she was stuck as a frog for half the movie.

9- Pocahontas
I never really loved the movie Pocahontas and this probably affects how much I like Pocahontas. Pocahontas is a free spirited daughter of the chief and she is developed a lot more than Tiana is able to.  Pocahontas is able to be adventurous as well as be one with nature but I don't really see that many characteristics that stand out.

8- Aurora
Sleeping Beauty is one of my favourite Disney movies but when I look back at it Aurora really doesn't do much. Aurora is a little boring as she spends the movie asleep waiting to be rescued. Aurora does have moments that show she has a kind personality as well as her relationship with the fairies which is one of the best parts of her character but these are only actually in a small part of the movie.

7- Cinderella
Cinderella has a real raw deal when we meet her: she has had to be a servant in her own home for many years. Despite this Cinderella is shown to have a happy, optimistic and dreamer personality which is what makes her so likable. The only thing that I could say and the reason why she isn't higher on the list is that she appears to be a bit passive and helpless. After all the time she has spent with her step mother and her step sisters it is odd that she hasn't taken more charge.
6- Snow White
Snow White is like most the princesses on this list: a kind and compassionate girl that has a good relationship with nature and animals. What helps place Snow White further up is that she is able to find a way to make it through the evil forest, find a place to stay and befriend the dwarf's to do so. She is able to use these qualities to connect with each of the dwarf's including grumpy. However, she can be naive as we see from her taking the apple from the evil queen leading to her sleep.

5- Ariel
Ariel is so head strong and persistent in exploring and finding out more about the human world, which is a very relatable trait for many. Not only this but she is able to use her own resourcefulness to escape a shark that is inches away from catching her. Her defiance of her father while all her other sisters seem to follow his rule also strengthens her character and shows that she can be a great leader. Despite this her major flaw would be that she is almost blinded by these ambitions and is willing to make a deal with Ursula which is not a very smart decision.

4- Rapunzel
Rapunzel is a little bit similar to Cinderella having been locked up in a situation for her whole life, although she is unaware that this is not a good place to be. However, when needed to Rapunzel is shown to be able to handle herself and take care of herself. This is clear when Flynn breaks in and she is able to bound and gag a grown man with the help of a fry pan. While she may be a bit unstable she shows that she is able to use her intelligence to get herself out of trouble and fulfil her wishes of finding the lanterns/lights as well as sacrificing herself for those she loves.
3- Jasmine
Jasmine is the frst on the list to not be the actual title character of the movie she appears in, rather the supporting character to Aladdin's story. Despite this she is able to show that she is a strong character in her own right. Jasmine has the strength to be able to reject the many suitors her father keeps attempting to push her with in the search of love. jasmine knows what she wants and she makes no way of compromising her beliefs. Jasmine is also a character looking for adventure and she takes this need into her own hands by escaping the palace she lives in and exploring the streets not as the princess but a common citizen. This is a pretty gutsy move to go to a place you have no experience in but Jasmine barely hesitates to do so. Jasmine is also able to see right through Aladdin's game of being a different person from the one she met in the streets and the prince and is able to address this to his face. She has no worries telling him and is able to stand up to him when needed which Aladdin finds refreshing.

2- Belle
Belle is another princess who doesn't conform to what others want but follows her own thoughts and beliefs. This is evident with her refusal to even give Gaston the town brute the time of day despite his numerous attempts. As well as this Belle is also brave enough to go out on her own to search for her father and then ultimately offer herself as a trade in order to save him. This shows the extent that Belle is willing to go for her father. Furthermore Belle is able to after some time befriend the Beast and see that there is more than what her appears to be. Belle is also strong enough to come back to the castle in order to try and save the Beast even when she knows that the whole town will be there with pitchforks.

1- Mulan

Mulan is one badass princess. Mulan makes a major sacrifice in offering herself up to the war in place of her ailing father and shows her bravery and courage in doing so. Mulan is one of the most capable princesses and is shown to be competent in the field. Mulan is also one of the few princesses to face their villain head to head and she is able to come up with a cunning plan to defeat him. Not only is Mulan intelligent, brave and resourceful she is also shown to care intensely for those she loves and be willing to do anything for them. Mulan makes the top of the list as she is the only princess who really hasn't had to be a damsel in distress but has taken her fate in her own hands and succeeded.

Random Rant- Why I hate Pacey Witter

I think from the moment he was introduced I disliked the character but looking back at the first season I think the storyline of Pacey seeing his teacher Mrs Jacobs was also a factor of my dislike. Usually I don't care about student teacher romances, I may roll my eyes at the idea but when this one was developiing this was impossible as it was so terrible. First of all can someone please explain to me how Mrs Jacobs even entertained let alone went through with a fling or as she says more than a fling with Pacey. The storyline made no sense how a successful teacher would pursue a relationship with a 16 year old boy that offers neither looks or intelligence. Looks wise Pacey was rocking a Caesar style hair cut, chubby cheeks and a look that only reminds me of Oscar the Grouch.
Compounding from this is the fact that Pacey is the biggest slacker in Capeside and I find it hard to believe that he could even follow and participate in a conversation with Tamara. So tell me this what does he offer. The following season actually had Pacey paired with Andie who made Pacey 100000000x more bearable and showed that Pacey may in fact have some good qualities. Through her mental health issues he stood by her and even waited for her return which is commendable. However, Pacey was soon to be a complete and terrible waste of a character. Between his constant moaning that he was Joey's second choice and skulking aroound his best friends back. Not only this but the attitude that Pacey had to school and his need to blame others and their happiness shows the type of character he is.
This behaviour got tiresome quickly and was obviously a key part of his character as it emerged again while he was with Audrey and her ex boyfriend came back. Not to mention the way he made and tried to control Joey's relationship with Dawson over and over which should have been an indication of his behaviour. A lot of people complain about the whiny character of Dawson Leery but I think it is fair to say at least he accepted Joey being with Pacey and didn't try to control who she sees. The only thing Dawson really did was freeze out Pacey who had gone behind his back and stolen his soulmate. Back on topic I do not know how anyone can condone or defend the behaviour of Pacey, with most conceding that his prom meltdown was a low point. That had to be the best episode of Dawson's Creek because seeing the rantings of a loon will forever make me smile and proved just that, that Pacey is a loon who degraded and embarrassed Joey in front of eveyone. Not only this but the disaster after disaster that led to his blowout is also funny to watch.
The last thing I will address now is the annoyance that slacker Pacey who is now 18 gets to become an apprentice chef. What infuriates me later is that he becomes interim manager when he has no experience before finally being able to get his own restaurant....talk about unbelievable. I could never ever buy Pacey as a chef and holding a job especially with the way he acted at work when he began, refusing to even look into wearing a hair net which is in place for hygiene and again when Civilisation was taken over and he had to be the one to speak up before he even knew what was happening. Anyway there are more reasons I could go on about the lameness of Pacey Witter but I'm cutting it short befoe I run out of blog room.

5 Awesome things from Jane by Design

Jane by Design was a ABCfamily show that went for 18 episodes and was recently and sadly cancelled. This post looks at 5 of the best things in no order that were in the show and reasons that this is a must see show despite its cancellation.

1. Erica Dasher
The main character of Jane Quimby couldn't have been cast better than Erica Dasher. The character is juggling the lives of a teenager and a fashion assistant and needed to be able to be believable in both these areas. Dasher is able to do this with ease as well as bringing both comedy and emotion to the character of Jane. As well as making the character come to life and making the personality and tribulations of Jane important to the viewer, Dasher is also able to have believable chemisty with all her main cast members. Be it with Andie McDowell as her boss, her many love interests or her brother it is clear that Dasher has chemistry with each and lights up the screen.

2. The many John Hughs References
The 80's saw the rise of John Hughs with hit mvies such as; 16 candles, Pretty in Pink, Home Alone and the Breakfast club. These movies and more are considered classic teen movies today and are watched by many. Jane by Design uses a lot of the ideas in general in the construction of the high school aspect of the show as well as using some direct links to past movies of Hughs. First and foremost is the similarity of Jane to Molly Ringwald's character Andie in Pretty and Pink. Both are fasionble outsiders with a male best friend. The show also has examples such as the time when Billy pretends to forget Jane's birthday which on screen is reminiscent to the film 16 candles and a dress that seems to be inspired by Pretty in Pink as well as others throughout.

 3. Billy and Jane
Whether you end up preferring the two as a couple or remaining best friends the two are still one of the most enjoyable parts of the show. As the show progresses seeing the two be there for each other and give up their own needs for each other shows the depth of their friendship and strengthens their individual characters. The two are both likeable characters on their own but it is when they are together that there are some great banter, emotional and comedic scenes.

4. Jane's Outfits
The show in general has some interesting fashion attire within the design house of Donovan Decker but it is Jane's ever changing outfits that can be convereted from school to fashion world that catch the eye. Jane will generally have at least 2 different ensembles each episode that are in her own distinct style.

5.  The catchy music and vibe
The show has pop songs throughout that match the type of show this is: a light hearted and earnest dramedy. The theme song is especially catchy and again works perfectly with the shows themes and plots.

Celebrity lookalikes

Celebrity Look alikes #1

Today will be the first in the series of looking at celebrities who seem to have a look alike that they may even get mistaken for. This is the type of thing that you need to take a double take to be sure that it was who you first thought. Again this is subjective and you may or may not agree with the conclusions that are drawn. To kick us off we will start with a pair that while distinguishable in their own ways have drawn many comparisons and are one of the first twosomes that I felt looked extremely similar.

Minka Kelly and Leighton Meester

First a bit of background information on the two: Meester is mainly known for her portrayal of Blair Waldorf on the CW's Gossip Girl and has also been seen in That's my boy, County strong, Veronica Mars, The Roommate and more.

Kelly on the other hand is mostly known for her portrayal of Lyla Garrity from Friday Night Lights but has also had roles in the short lived Charlies Angels reboot, parenthood and The Roommate.

Now on to the comparison:

The two have even been cast together in the move The Roommate where Meester's character eventual attempts to single white female Kelly's character after meeting at college.

To conclude I'd like to point out the site celebrity lookalikes where more comparisons are made and some of the images used in this post were from. I'd like to hear what anyone thinks about these two as look alikes and to visit for more look alikes in the future.

Unintentionally funny

#1 To start us off is a moment from Nikita Season 1 Episode 11- All the way.

The show is generally serious and dark and this moment attempts to continue this however the delivery of the lines from Michael are almost too dramatic to begin with talking about the lethal dosage but it is his and how it then moves on to show Alex his technique of stabbing the target in the neck and softly whispering...hush. The seriousness and expressions mixed with the idea of killing someone but also using the word hush goes together to make this moment very unintentionally silly and funny.

Top ten episodes of One Tree Hill

To begin the first look into this blog is a look at my personal favourite show: One Tree Hill. I have watched a crazy amount of TV and movies but the first thing that comes to mind when asked what I enjoyed the most is One Tree Hill. To commemorate this blog and One Tree Hill I will now include my personal favourite episodes during the 9 year run and attempt to narrow the list down to 10 which for me is an incredibly difficult task.

10
Season 1 Episode 1: Pilot
This episode is able to set the premise up nicely with two half brothers; one rich (Nathan), one poor (Lucas) who never knew each other coming head to head in a basketball match to determine if the two brothers will need to play on the same high school basketball team. Through this the episode is able to touch on the differences of the brothers, the difficulties of one sons abandonment, sport and gives the rest of the key players distinguished characters from the get go. My personal favourite Haley is identified as Lucas' best friend but is given more dimensions than just this having some great sarcastic one liners. Overall the episode is solid in creating a story and characters that gains viewers interests as well as giving viewers a taste of the great soundtrack that accompanies every episode including and following this. The only negative that is present is the lack of the Brooke Davis character who is introduced in the following episode.

 9
Season 2 Episode 8: Truth, Bitter Truth
This episode is quite light hearted and makes the list as it has many funny moments that are memorable as well as some great character interchanges and interactions and some important plot developments. The main three girls and Anna have many moments while at their slumber party with the hilarious exchange between Brooke Peyton and Haley will go down as one of the funniest moments from the show, but it is the growing relationships between Nathan and Lucas that perfectly balances the drama and comedy to create an enjoyable episode.

8
Season 3 Episode 4: An attempt to tip the scales

While season 3 is considered to be the strongest season by most this is not see by most to be one of the best episodes of the series but I will include it as it is an episode that has seen many a re watch and hasn't lost its initial spark after many re watches. The episode is again quite a fun one that mixes both dramatic and comedic moments whilst building tension. Brooke and Lucas are beginning to gain speed, Nathan and Haley are still unsure of the future and a newcomer who will continue to cause trouble is first introduced. The Nathan and Haley scenes in particular stand out with Nathan first literally swooping in to save Haley and then the misunderstanding that he has kissed Haley. Overall the episode is again another great look at the characters and their struggles for the moment.

7
Season 7 Episode 7: I and Love and You
This episode was one of the big ones of season 7 with Nathan's cheating scandal finally coming to a head and the mysterious back story of newcomer Clay Evans finally discovered. This episode makes the list for the awesomeness of Dan Scott exposing Nathans accuser as well as the emotion that was felt from all characters in this episode. The tension and relief from both Nathan and Haley were front and centre while the sadness of Clay's situation was revealed in a devastating way. Overall the episode was able to use these two in particular as well as the back story of Quinn and the struggles of Brooke and Julia to create an intense episode.

6
Season 9 Episode 8: A rush of blood to the head
I have one word for this episode: Intense. This episode had so much going on and gave the viewers many answers and questions all at the same time. The episode was able to have heartfelt scenes such as Haley's ice cream speech as well as truly shocking moments such as; chase attacking Chuck's father, Logan's reveal and Haley's partnership with Dan. All in all this episode had a bit of everything and really was one of the most memorable from the final season.

5
Season 6 Episode 3: Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.
This is one of the saddest episodes of the series with the characters all dealing with the aftermath of Quinten's death and his funeral. This makes the list for me because I felt that every character was shown to be having different feelings as a result of a tragic event. Watching Nathan and Haley tell Jamie that he wont see Q again and seeing Q's mother talk to the characters about the changes and impact they had on Quinten have so much emotion. The final scenes where Brooke finally lets go and cries and Jamie throws the cape that was made for Q are filled with emotion and sadness and end a very sad and touching episode.

4
Season 2 Episode 22 and 23- The tide that left and never came back/ Leavers dance
This two parter sneaks in together to make the list at number 4. The first part of the episode shows Lucas and Brooke going to New York to try and get Haley to come back. The interactions between Haley and Lucas were still strong and their friendship could be felt in this episode. This is one aspect in particular that I loved as I feel like the friendship of these two was such a strong part of the show. Additionally the idea of the students writing their finals essay worked so well with the theme of the episode and was able to offer great insights into the characters and their situations. The second part held up and was able to give one of the best ending sequences of the show with Dan left in flames at the dealership and the identity of the arsonist unknown. Finally the episode saw the return of Haley, the departure of Brooke after Lucas finally reveals his feelings and the beginnings of a Lucas and Peyton friendship.

3
Season 5 Episode 12- Hundred
The commemorative 100th episode of the series had a wedding, dream sequences and a kidnapping all in the space of one episode. The first time I watched this I knew Lucas wouldn't marry Lindsay bu the way that this episode went was completely different from how I imagined. I loved the callbacks to earlier seasons, Skills tailgating, Peyton's dream confession and the return of Karen and Andy. The episode was able to use these aspects to recall its history as well as continue important plot lines such as; Brooke wanting a baby.
Not only was the build up and the wedding interesting but the kidnapping of Jamie resulting in Dan needing to save him and his triumphant return to a house full of people who hate him was a great way to celebrate 100 episodes.

2
Season 4 Episode 9- Some that give away

The state championship-nuff said. This is one of the moments that the characters have been waiting for since the before the first season and this was a great episode about this. The narration at the start really throws off the immediate thoughts of whats going to happen in the basketball game and the further use of narrations in the closing scenes to accompany the characters worked beautifully. Like many on the list this episode combined and balanced comedy and drama with some truly shocking moments leaving the viewer with major cliffhangers. The triumph of the ravens were felt as well as the sadness at the dire situation that the characters were left in at the conclusion of the episode.

1---Drum roll please.....
Season 3 Episode 22- The show must go on
This episode saw the renewal of vows of Nathan and Haley and the celebration of their marriage. This was the focus of the episode and included many great couple scenes between the two, great brotherly moments, Lucas and Haley moments as well as many other interactions. Not only was the set up looking beautiful but the vows shared between Nathan and Haley were heartfelt and reflected the characters perfectly. However, the happiness was short lived with Dan finding out Deb was the arsonist and the lives of Nathan, Cooper and Rachel all hanging in the balance while Haley looked on helplessly. What makes this episode so great is the plot lines that occurred, the performances from the whole cast and the musical selections. I will still say that one of the greatest placements of music in a TV show is the use of Led Zeppelin's Babe I'm gonna leave you as the limousine drives off the bridge and finally Nathan dives in and the bracelet that has held such significance from season 1 slowly floats up seemingly lost.
